A statutory declaration is a statement that someone puts in writing. The person making the statement must sign it to confirm that they're telling the truth. They sign it in front of someone who has the legal authority to take oaths or affirmations. This includes lawyers and notaries.

What is a Statutory Declaration of Identify for Permanent Residency?
 

A statutory declaration of identity is a legal document that lets a person attest to their own identity, or the identity of another person. It is used for PR card renewal applications if an applicant cannot include identity documents along with their application and must include a valid reason or an explanation. In addition to the Statutory Declaration of identity, the applicant must provide a statutory declaration made by another person such as a friend or a family member attesting to the applicant's identity. What is a Statutory Declaration Of Common Law Union (IMM5409E)?
 

The IMM 5409E is an Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) form that is used for immigration purposes. The signers submit the completed IMM540 submitted to the IRCC as evidence of their relationship and is used for visa purposes.

Amalgamation is a process by which two or more corporations governed by the Canada Business Corporations Act, the "amalgamating corporations," merge and carry on as one corporation, the "amalgamated corporation". 
Statutory Declaration must include statements regarding the amalgamated corporation's liabilities, assets, grounds for believing that no creditor will be prejudiced by amalgamation. It must be signed by a director or officer of each amalgamating corporation.

Typically required for Canadian Passport or travel documents applications when documents submitted are not in English or French language and have been translated.
